ABOUT Kara Dibble, MSW, LCSW
Kara Dibble is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in New Jersey, Vermont, and New Hampshire, providing services to individuals, couples, and families. Kara has worked as a Clinical Social Worker throughout the country with clients of all ages and backgrounds, and in many different settings. Most of Kara's work has been with individuals that have experienced one or more traumas at any stage of life, impacting daily functioning, quality of relationships, and overall level of comfort. Trauma can manifest in a number of ways, including addiction, insecure attachment, nervous system dysregulation, physical pain, chronic illness, and emotional dysregulation. With this understanding, Kara incorporates various somatic modalities into treatment as an accessible way to self-regulate and provide physical and emotional relief.
To better serve her clients, Kara became trained in Sand Play Therapy, a Jungian and play-based therapy used to treat unresolved trauma. Using Sand Play Therapy with her clients with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis, or any sensory processing difficulties, has been extremely effective in providing relief and managing symptoms. Kara is also trained in EMDR, a psychotherapy treatment that is designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. Throughout years of training and utilizing these modalities with many of her clients, Kara has found Sand Play Therapy and EMDR to be the most transformative of approaches for healing mind, body, and spirit.
Trauma-Informed Yoga, meditation, and breathing techniques have also played a major role in healing for Kara both personally and professionally. Kara has taught yoga in various settings, and is passionate about sharing safe and inclusive yoga practices.
Kara feels honored to connect with so many different people through this work, and looks forward to holding space for those on their own unique journey to self-empowerment and healing.
